It s a one and only arm chair made by Rene Herbst sometime in the 1920 s that belongs in a furniture designers museum.It had to made right around his Sandow chairs based on the springs.This style chair was the forerunner to the looped armed Danish modern chairs later perfected by Jindrich Halabala.Rene Herbst is the only person who could have made this.There was nobody else who ever used bungy cord like coil springs at this time.The cover on the springs is a thick fabric with a red mark on the outside that I only found on two other chairs with spings ( or expersprings) that had this red mark and both were made by Herbst.One is on 1st dibs and the chair is a variation of this chair with the looped wooden arms.This chair is in excellent condition and the frame is solid as a rock without any wobbling at all.There s not any rips or tears in the fabric but it s old.Reupolstered this is a interior designers dream and makes a stylish statement for the client that has everything.Best Offer 727-479-6513
