LANTERN - Nautical - PortStarboard Navagation -6½" Bra

I am offering an original (not a repo) Port & Starboard TRIPLEX Navigation Lantern. Based on the design quality and materials used it was likely built in the early 1900 s by the prolific National Marine Lamp Company based in New York. It measures 6 tall (with the bale down) x 5 wide x 4 deep (add 3 for light divider) and weighs 2 pounds. The lantern is all brass has been polished and clear coated. There are three different areas on the body containing the following information Oval Brass Tag on Front TRIPLEX TRADE MARK LENSF PATD DEC.20 1910 OTHER PATS PEN Back is stamped above mounting bracket MF RD BY NATIONAL MARINE LAMP CO NEW YORK and the mounting bracket is embossed PATENTED APRIL 1st 1913 . The uniquely designed red and green (turned blue) ribbed door glass lenses appear to be the originals and are in near perfect condition. The oil font assembly is missing but 110V lighting has been added which includes a power cord with in-line switch. Also it is very rare to still have the original brass slide-in light divider. The body and divider have the typical dents and scratches but the overall condition is very nice considering its advanced age. Someone has spent a lot of time and effort refurbishing this nautical artifact which makes it an exceptional piece of U.S. Maritime history.
