Minimum Requirements Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 10 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field s concepts practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May report directly to a supervisor or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The USOCS shall also have the ability to drive a motorized vehicle and possess a valid California C driver s license. Experience Requirements The USOCS shall be qualified (i.e. appropriately licensed certified etc. with minimum California Grade D2 Distribution System License and California Grade T2 level Water Treatment license for USO Water Plant Operator and California Grade T2 level Water Treatment license for both Waste Water Plant Operator and Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator) skilled and knowledgeable in maintaining repairing trouble-shooting monitoring installing and operating utility systems including but not limited to water waste water and industrial waste water treatment plants. Major Duties The USOCS shall have a strong knowledge and skill in utility systems trade. Some basic mathematics is required to help compute utility related requirements. Employee must be able to read interpret standard construction blueprint and operating manuals. Has a basic knowledge of how the work relates to other trades. Is capable of using all utility system trade related tools and equipment.
