Italian Hand Carved Savanarola chairs

This style of chair was developed in the late 15th century in Italy and was created to fold thus making it portable. The Savonarola didn t get its name until the 19th century when homage was paid to a famous Renaissance Dominican friar Girolamo Savonarola who led Florence during the late 15th century. All hand carved the arms have a lion s head and the back has an intricate design. The back is removable so the chair can be folded. They are in very good condition and measure approx 33-1 2 H x 25-1 2 W x 19-12 D. I m not sure of the wood type but they were typically made of walnut. I m selling at a very reasonable price. Recently at an auction I attended a very similar one sold for 250 and online sellers are asking upwards of 500 for one. I m located in New Cumberland and can meet at an agreed upon location.
