Legal Secretary Office Manager Position (Brandon FL)

SUMMARY Part Time to Full Time Legal Secretary position available in a growing law office located in the heart of Brandon Florida. This is no ordinary or dull legal secretary position that we are offering in our Brandon firm as this position offers the further growth and ability to serve as the firm s office manager and bookkeeper. This position provides a unique opportunity to obtain further growth in office management and bookkeeping experience while learning and providing legal administrative support in a team law office environment. This position additionally provides a great opportunity to learn and obtain experience in our firm s diverse areas of practice including estate planning business and tax law. We are a smaller law firm with medium call volume and we re looking for a dependable team player that is eager to learn and grow as the firm grows. JOB DUTIES Open and or close the law office depending on agreed time schedule. Customer service reception and inter-office communication including but not limited to answering phone calls collecting client information scheduling appointments calendaring appointments relaying messages to the office team drafting general correspondence letters to clients and keeping the clients updated on the status of their case as well as any scheduled appointments hearings or deadlines. Administrative tasks such as general bookkeeping billing ordering and or shopping for office supplies and filing documents with the court. Assists in preparing legal documents including but not limited to Estate Planning documents Real Property documents and Business Purchase Sale and Closing documents. E-Files case pleading and other court records. Assisting with locating and organizing of financial records evidence and legal researchKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Minimum two years of legal secretary or other law office experience and or training Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint and general office equipment General math skills including addition subtraction multiplication division percentages and interest. Strong communication skills such as the ability to empathize and be sympathetic. Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a competitive legal market. Excellent time management and dependable work performanceENCOURAGED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL Accounting and or general bookkeeping experience is encouraged. Knowledge of PCLaw encouraged however not mandatory. Knowledge and experience in Estate Planning including Wills Trusts Durable Power of Attorney Health Care Directives encouraged however not mandatory. Knowledge and experience in general litigation practice including preparing and organizing pleadings e-filing and discovery is encouraged however not mandatory.
