Research Study on Social Anxiety

Are you anxious about being judged by others Are you very self-conscious in front of others and feel easily embarrassed Do you avoid social situations because of your anxiety We are looking for participants for a study evaluating two psychological interventions for social anxiety. People with social anxiety are fearful of being negatively judged by others and of being embarrassed or humiliated. They often avoid or feel very uncomfortable in situations that involve interacting with other people or doing things in front of others. This fear can prevent people from being able to do the things they want to do and significantly affect quality of life. Treatment sessions are free of charge. Selection criteria Males and females between 18 and 65 years of age Able to attend 12 weekly sessions No history of bipolar disorder or psychotic symptoms No substance-related disorder in last 12 months Not engaged in regular yoga practice or meditation (> 3x week) in past 12 months Not currently receiving psychotherapy or counselling.
