SUMMARY Management Business Solutions (MBS) is seeking a Transportation Manager for an automotive client in the Albion IL area. This person will be responsible for developing and managing transportation and logistics services in order to provide cost effective and timely receipt and delivery of company products and raw materials.RESPONSIBILITIES Participates in regular operations and P& L fleet reviews to ensure that budgets are met develops and implements programs for optimal equipment utilization equipment maintenance and labor and material costs. Participates in Rate Negotiation and discounts with carriers through RFP process. Manages road and shuttle drivers as well as a Traffic Team. Oversees tracing proof of delivery rate audit and freight claims settlement. Responsible for quoting tracking and transportation reporting and metrics while diagnosing and improving processes procedures and performance Continually focuses on achieving market base profitability through effective management of all transportation and operation activities within the assigned area including cost control employee development and high training and safety standards. Participates in supply chain improvement Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting coaching disciplining and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination compensation and promotion decisions. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science degree in Business or Logistics or the equivalent required. 3-5 years of experience in a transportation or logistics position required. Must have full working knowledge and experience of D.O.T compliance and hours of service requirements. Proficient in MS Office software preferred. Strong communication skills to negotiate freight and motivate employees.
