MSSU Seminar Series Leveraging Administrative Health Data to Eva
The mental health status of children and youth in New Brunswick has been identified as a population health priority by numerous provincial agencies and government departments due to the high rates of institutionalization throughout the province. In 2013-2014 64 youth per 10 000 were admitted to hospital for mental health issues compared to 35.5 per 10 000 nationally. The purpose of this presentation is to describe results of a project that measured time series (2003-2013) and geographic trends in mental health-related hospital admissions by children and youth using data accessed through the New Brunswick Institute for Research Data and Training.
