I am offering a vintage stand-up hand pumped Foghorn. During dense fog a ship s crewmember was assigned to crank this device (at certain intervals) especially in congested waterways. Based on the design and materials used it was likely built in Asia approximately 25 years ago. It is a replica of the world famous Swedish made Tyfon model which has become very collectible. The overall height is 24 and the width is 6 at the base. The horn its self is 16 long x 5 wide and rotates 360 degrees. This unit is mounted and a 12 x 6 hardwood base which the user stands on when operating the horn. The pump handle extends 7 and sounds off when depressed. A copy of the original Swedish builder s tag (with the unit s serial number) is attached to the horn. This item generates some interesting conversation in addition to being a very unique d cor piece.
