SUMMARY Management Business Solutions (MBS) is actively seeking a Metal Fabrication Supervisor in Grand Rapids MI for our client in the manufacturing industry. The Metal Fabrication Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations and scheduling of labor. This person will work with the safety team and EHS Manager to make improvement where necessary. The ideal candidate will be in pursuit of a first shift schedule.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for driving and implementing productivity improvements through lean practices Directs manufacturing operations to drive On Time Delivery to both internal and external customers. Experience working in a union environment and administering the union contract Assists with staffing to meet needs and prepares schedules and make sure they are met. Assists Quality engineering in improvements to processes and product. Attends production manning and other meetings as required. Assists in the completion of continuous improvement projects. Experience managing ten to one hundred employees in a supervisory role Ability to apply problem solving supervisory skills. Team building both within the team and inter-departmental. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including conflict resolution skills. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 3 years of work experience in manufacturing required 1 years of supervisory experience required Associates degree in manufacturing related field of study preferred Knowledge of safety requirements and general laws required. Experience in metal stamping or fabrication preferred Powder Coat experience is a plus
