Affectionately known as the Timberdoodle American Woodcocks are 1 of Westport s more unusual seasonal residents. Unlike many species of shorebird the American Woodcock prefers upland forests over sandy beaches and dines primarily on earthworms. Join Executive Director Ryan Mann on a Thursday evening hike at the Herb Hadfield Conservation Area as we look and listen for the courtship flights of male American Woodcocks.
