Tool Training Manual Milling Machine - Early June 2016

Description The manual mills in the Asylum machine shop are amazingly versatile tools- they can be used to create precisely dimensioned parts out of aluminum steel or plastic cut sheets of metal to size or miter tubes for welding. This class will teach you how to setup a bridgeport-style mill for precision machining how to securely hold a part how to precisely measure distances down to one-thousandth of an inch and how to make facing cuts and drill holes using a wide variety of mill bits and accessories. Successful completion of this course will provide students with the knowledge needed to participate in tool testing for the Artisan s Asylum Bridgeport mills. This short class will not however offer students the opportunity to become expert in the operation of this tool -- that requires applying these techniques to a project over many hours whether independently or in a longer form class....
