Town of Bellingham Regional Mental Health Care Coordinator Outside Contracted Services Position The Town of Bellingham is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Mental Health Care Coordinator to provide services to older adults in six local communities (Bellingham Blackstone Franklin Medway Mendon and Milford) who are experiencing emotional mental health challenges as well as the following duties Training members of the EMHOT (Outreach staff) in mental health illnesses symptoms best practices for interaction and interventions and social services available to support older adults with mental illness. Conduct assessments and coordination of services for referred seniors. If the EMHOT team includes other clinicians then supervising the group. Consulting with COA staff and community team members to develop unified responses to situations. Identifying community resources and gaps in services. Developing behavioral plans and interventions for Senior Centers or housing developments staff to help address specific situations involving older adults who have mental illness. Convening and coordinating an Elder Mental Health Outreach Team (EMHOT) with representatives from the Police Fire and Board of Health departments as well as the local ASAP the COAs the public housing service coordinators and others. Conducting in-depth mental health assessments on an as needed basis for high-risk individuals (funding of last resort). Hours Up to 35 hours per week Monday through Friday Position Type This is a grant funded contracted services position through June 2017. Office space equipment and supplies will be provided. Funding for this project was provided in part by the Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging under a Service Incentive Grant from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs. Qualification and experience This position requires the successful candidate to have Master s Degree and Certification as an LICSW LMHC or in a related field five years of direct clinical work of which two include supervision a minimum of a year s experience with elderly clients is required. Massachusetts Class D motor vehicle operator s license required. To qualify candidates must also have a positive verifiable work history. Compensation Commensurate with experience and qualifications up to 50 per hour. The candidate will assume all responsibility for Worker s Compensation routine mileage and other benefits as an independent vendor.
