With Clarke you join an innovative and passionate team where people are the heart and soul of the organization working together to create an environment where the employees thrive and nature flourishes.Most seasonal work will be done outdoors either on the water in an environment that includes heavy vegetation uneven terrain and varying weather conditions using trucks boats and backpack sprayers.Clarke is seeking independent self-motivated detail-orientated safety focused and environmentally conscious individuals with a passion for the outdoors to join us for a fun seasonal job opportunity.The Seasonal Field Supervisor will provide support to the Regional Biologist based in the Philadelphia office in the field. He she is responsible for helping with scheduling quality assurance checks mapping quality assurance in order to ensure customer expectations and objectives for all contracts in assigned territories are met. The ACS will spend considerable amounts of time performing field operations.Field Technicians day to day activities may include inspection of breeding site using a dipper to sample water source larviciding applications using backpack sprayer or hand application to street catch basins using a company truck or bicycle for transportation and adulticiding while driving a truck with attached sprayer while following an established routes.No prior experience is required previous experience in a leadership supervisory role strongly preferred. Paid training is included Shift varies based on customer needWeekends and or overtime may be required based on business needsRequired Experience Job Duties and Responsibilities Perform field operations in the field and assists Regional Biologist with general day to day activities Complete routine Quality Assurance checks and advises Regional Biologist regarding schedule conflicts service related issues equipment problems issues and any other job related issues Assists in the job ticket flow process verifying work completion and work closely with Regional Biologist administrative staff to resolve questions or problems Perform daily inspections of field equipment at beginning and end of each shift to make certain all materials are inventoried as well as identify problems issues and or verify safe and proper working condition Ensure truck checks are performed at the beginning and end of each work shift to make certain all safety equipment and materials are inventoried and are in proper working condition Promptly advises Regional Biologist of vehicle and or equipment damage or malfunction Inventory supplies and assist Regional Biologist purchasing of supplies or new equipment needed Coordination with customers or homeowners to schedule treatment services Responsible for making sure that safe work practices and procedures are followed at all times including the use of all required Personal Protective Equipment Performs miscellaneous duties as required Successful Candidate Must Must be 18 years of age or older Possess a high school degree or equivalent with high school level math skills Must be proficient in reading street maps Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms Have a valid Driver s License with an excellent driving record Be able to sit and drive a vehicle for extended periods of time as well as walk extensively Ability to ride a bicycle for the extensive amounts of time Other Requirements Must be able to work through the end of our 2016 season (October November) Will be required to obtain state (Pennsylvania and New Jersey) required pesticide licensing (training provided) Capable of using handheld technical devices including but not limited to smartphones GPS and system applications Candidate must be comfortable performing assigned duties in the field from a vehicle while navigating through various residential communities urban environments and traffic patterns where environmental conditions are affected by weather Candidate must also be comfortable performing assigned duties outdoors while walking through various and challenging terrain including but not limited to water heavy vegetation and uneven land throughout residential communities urban environments and forested areas where environmental conditions are affected by weather.We offer a team atmosphere where each individual can and does make a difference.Clarke is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
