Equestrian Instructor Internship - 9 weeks (5yrs Riding Exp. Req

Okay so the pay isn t great the working hours are long the summers are hot and humid (oh and don t forget all the stalls need to get mucked every day).... Perhaps even thinking of making a career in the horse world or running your own program some day this could be a good fit for you Qualifications Seeking QUALIFIED Horseback Riding Instructor intern to assist in our Summer Day Camp Program (non residential). Ideal candidate will have a min 5 years English Riding experience and ability to demonstrate proper English Riding and horsemanship. Must be a High School graduate and 19 years of age with some College experience. Enrollment (or completion) in an accredited 4 year Equine Science degree or equivalent program is a big plus. References will be checked and verified. Other Job Duties Supervise horse campers while they are at the horse barns. Ensure safety of campers and horses at all times. Assist campers in all aspects of horse care including grooming tacking un-tacking cleaning stalls carrying or filling water buckets feeding horses leading horses helping mount or dismount horses during riding lessons. Assist Horseback Riding Instructors and staff during scheduled riding lesson times by providing assistance in any way needed or requested by the Head Riding Instructor. Ensure that campers are practicing safety and respect at all times toward the horses and provide direction and assistance if campers need help. Roles and responsibilities may be adjusted based on the applicants skill set and desire capacity to learn. Safety Responsibility and good judgement is required in all aspects of job performance. Recipient will receive a limited stipend for participation in this program. No relocation or additional housing room or board assistance offered.
