FINE WOOD FINISHER Job Description Van Nuys Painting Contractor has immediate openings for Fine Wood Finishers. Under general supervision of the Operations Superintendent the duties for Wood Finishers are Will perform journey-level work in painting and custom fine wood finishing including prep repair & texture undercoats and finish coats using a full range of application methods and materials. Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely. Will follow schedules monitor and perform work orders. Will communicate work status to supervisor. Record and submit daily work performed reports. Ensures work areas are neat clean and orderly throughout project process. Cleans and maintains all painting equipment including brush roller sprayers and other equipment. Responsible to prepare all necessary supplies materials and equipment for each day of the project. Performs all duties promptly efficiently and professionally. Promotes excellent-quality customer service. Will comply with company standards policies and safety training regulations. Minimum Qualifications -Must have at least 3 years experience as a journey-level painter & fine wood finishing in residential commercial or facility operations. -Must have experience with interior exterior painting fine wood finishing antiquing faux bois distressing marbleizing wall treatments and textures venetian plaster gilding faux finishes and other decorative painting and finishing techniques. (some techniques are not required) -Must have knowledge in the process code requirements methods and safe practices of the painting trade in working with paints varnish lacquer enamel epoxy paint remover and other related materials. -Must be proficient in English.-Must have a High School diploma or equivalent or have attended trade school apprenticeship program.-Must possess a valid California Drivers License and proof of auto insurance.-Must be able to perform physical activities such as but not limited to lifting 50-75lbs bending standing climbing kneeling walking pushing pulling and reaching.-Must have proficient knowledge of OSHA mandated GHS SDS requirements.-Must be willing to travel to jobsites throughout Los Angeles and surrounding Counties. On occasion further.
