Claudette and Eain Lamont - A Life With Bees Talk

Claudette and Eain will share their passion for bees and nature insects birds and wildlife in the context of their own 47 yr experience as beekeepers in the Okanagan and their background as keepers of visual art history in the Okanagan. Eain s mother Gwen Lamont was a noted artist who studied in the early twenties at the Ontario College of Art with Arthur Lismer 1 of the Group of Seven. She was the 1st curator of the Kelowna Art Carousel. Some of Gwen s artwork illustrates the Interior Salish food preparation of many Okanagan indigenous wildflowers with knowledge that was passed down by Elder Christine Allen 90 yrs old and translated by her daughter Mary Thomas. The Lamonts talk about how the weather climate water and species adaptation have changed over time will be interwoven with photos of the artwork of Gwen Lamont as well as photographs from Claudette s time as a beekeeper. Claudette and Eain Lamont have been beekeepers for nearly 50 yrs....
