Most seasonal work will be done outdoors either on the water in an environment that includes heavy vegetation uneven terrain and varying weather conditions using trucks boats ATVs (all-terrain vehicles) bikes and backpack sprayers. Clarke is seeking independent self-motivated detail-orientated safety focused and environmentally conscious individuals with a passion for the outdoors to join us for a fun seasonal job opportunity. Clarkes Aquatic Services was established to provide important services that help our customers to maintain healthy and clear waterways. This is accomplished through comprehensive inspection of the water site and application of herbicides and algaecides that help to keep weeds and algae at bay as well as complete aeration services. Aquatic Service Technicians are responsible for a comprehensive inspection of local waterways and the application of appropriate herbicide to control or eliminate aquatic weeds and algae within assigned territories. The work will be done outdoors on the water in an environment that may include heavy vegetation uneven terrain and varying weather conditions using boats gators and backpack sprayers. Multiple positions are available. No prior experience required. Paid training is included Shift Monday- Friday 7 00am - 3 30pm (end times may vary based on business needs) Weekends and or overtime may be required based on business needs Pay 11.00 per hour Candidates should be available to work a flexible schedule and be willing to travel out of state on a regular basis. Required Experience Job Duties and Responsibilities Utilize a map to drive to assigned treatment areas and to locate specific treatment site(s) while towing a trailer or boat Drive a small motorboat or ATV (All Terrain Vehicles) and use a high-pressure sprayer to treat assigned sites Inspect water source carefully identify plants correctly measure treatments accurately and dispense treatment utilizing a 75-80 pound backpack in a safe proper and timely manner Perform cleaning and daily inspections of vehicle and equipment to verify working condition and communicate any issues to the supervisor Document and communicate daily work activity including product used to ensure completion of customer contracts Responsible for making sure safe work practices and procedures are followed at all time Successful Candidate Must Be 18 years of age or older Possess a high school degree or equivalent with high school level math skills Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms Have a valid Drivers License with an excellent driving record Ability to sit and drive a vehicle for extended periods of time as well as walk extensivelyOther Requirements Must be able to work through the end of our 2016 season (September October) Must be available to work Monday- Friday 7 00am - 3 30pm (end times may vary based on business needs) Required to pass the Michigan Department of Agriculture General Standard Exam (training provided) Capable of using handheld technical devices including but not limited to smartphones GPS system applications Candidate must be comfortable performing assigned duties outdoors while walking through various and challenging terrain including but not limited to water heavy vegetation and uneven land throughout residential communities urban environments and forested areas where environmental conditions are affected by weatherWe offer a team atmosphere where each individual can and does make a difference.
