Recently Nellie (my sweet little Akita) and I were kicked out of our family home and was forced to live with some relatives of ours. They do not like the dog and do not want the dog. I was certain that my older brother was going to be able to take care of the dog while I am 10 hours away in Maine for college but now not so much. My grandfather has threatened to contact the dog warden if I don t get rid of her despite she has done nothing bad on the property. Nellie is essentially my emotional support dog because she has been through a lot with me whether it was my father s death or the bipolar depression that came after as a result. This is very very hard for me to do and thinking of being away from her is heart breaking but I need to do what s best for her. I owe it to her.Nellie weighs 82lbs is spayed and is need of yearly booster shots by November. She is healthy as can be. I take her on a three two-mile walks each day. She is great on leash but can also go off-leash if she lives you well enough.Nellie gets along well with most animals. I have never seen her actively become aggressive at animal that did her no wrong. She has gotten into a spat with the grandparents cat however the cat did rake her face. Nellie has been around many animals including calves and bearded dragons and has honestly shown no interest in them. Nellie was raised with a German Shepherd so she knows how to share space.My ideal home for Nellie would be - A family or couple experienced in raising dogs- A family that has one other or multiple dogs already so she won t be alone- A large acreage or fenced in backyard- Someone who will rub her ears and call tell her how pretty she is for the rest of her daysI would love to keep Nellie if I could but I won t be on my own like a real adult till five or six years from now.Please please please text me at 585794 7 0 6 7 or contact me on facebook if you have any inquiries.
