Christina Baker Kline Author of Orphan Train Community Presentat

Christina Baker Kline will be speaking to the general public at six p.m. in the Kenan Flagler Auditorium at St. Catherine s School followed by a book signing with books for sale by Fountain Bookstore. Tickets are 5 each with all proceeds going to the Children s Home Society of Virginia an organization which works to provide permanent adoptive homes to children of all ages in Virginia. Orphan Train is an historical fiction novel which alternates telling the story of Molly Ayer who is about to age out of the foster care system in Maine with the elderly Vivian residing in her big house by herself. While Molly needs to get community service hours to avoid going to juvie Vivian needs to sort through an attic of memories and Molly quickly learns that she has much more in common with the older woman than she originally believed. Long ago Vivian lost her entire family 1 horrible night in New York City only to be placed on a train with other children and sent West to hopefully find a new family....
