This position will be based atour Maple Street Caf located in our corporate office. MapleStreet Caf will be responsible for providing food service toour corporate associates and guests.Job Summary A Steward isresponsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of allchina glass and silver and ensuring the highest standards ofsanitation. He she is also responsible for assisting the kitchenstaff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storageareas.JobResponsibilities Approach all encounters with guests in a friendly serviceoriented manner. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with restaurantStandards as required by scheduling which will vary according to theneeds of the restaurant. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform. Comply at all times with Omni policies and regulations toencourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times. Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure that all china glass and silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation of such ismaintained. Replace all clean china glass and silver in its properstorage location using care to minimize breakage. Wash pots pans and kitchen utensils following properprocedure for their cleanliness and sanitation storing them in theproper location. Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and Cafe. Empty garbage from Food and Beverage areas into the maindumpster. Maintain the cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area. Know the location and operation of all fire extinguishingequipment. Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possibleinjury to self or other employees. Be familiar with all hotel policies. Follow the proper procedures in the breakdown cleaning andreassembling of all kitchen equipment as needed. Be familiar with emergency procedures. Must at all times be attentive friendly helpful andcourteous to all guests. Assist in maintaining the order and cleanliness of allstorage areas. Assist in the set up and breakdown of the Cafe buffet asrequired. Attend meetings as required by management. Perform any other duties as requested by management.Job RequirementsJob Requirements High School diploma or equivalent and or experience in ahotel or a related field preferred. Long hours sometimes required. Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and or 50 pounds of force frequently and or up to 20 pounds of forceconstantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to stand during entire shift. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative coursesof action quickly and accurately.
