Professor Radio and Television PresentationBroadcasting-Radio Television and Film ProgramSchool of Media StudiesApplications are invited for the position of Professor Radio and Television Presentation in the School of Media Studies Media and Technology Division at the Welland Campus with duties to commence August 2013.Reporting to the Chair School of Media Studies the successful candidate will develop and teach post-secondary courses at a variety of levels in the three-year Broadcasting-Radio Television and Film Program. Courses include but are not limited to ALL aspects of On-Air Radio Performance Programming and Production Radio Sales Broadcast Journalism and On-Air Television Reporting and Presentation.The Professor position is responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective learning environment for students. This includes designing revising and updating courses curriculum teaching assigned courses defining and evaluating students ability to meet course objectives utilize a variety of instructional resources and provide individualized instruction where necessary. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.Required qualifications include An Advanced Diploma (3 year) or Bachelor degree in Broadcasting - Radio and or Television A minimum of 10 years industry-related experience to include on-air radio and or television performance Knowledge of BBM Radio Ratings process and analysis Familiar with digital audio production tools (Adobe Audition or Pro Tools) and Newsroom software (Burli or Newsroom 4) Experience integrating social media in to the broadcast and on-line environment. Excellent written oral communication organizational problem solving analytical and teamwork skills. Experience delivering content to a diverse adult audience. Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster support the same with their colleagues Demonstrated networking relationship building and liaison abilities with the local community. Preferred candidates may also possess Demonstrated experience analyzing performance of on- air talent in a supervisory capacity (Program Director or Music Director or Station Brand Manager) Demonstrated experience teaching in a post secondary institution Demonstrated experience in curriculum design development and teaching an asset Professional designation is an asset Practical experience with online learning software and educational database applications Candidates may be required to provide a portfolio of related work Candidates will also be required to deliver a sample lesson on an assigned topic TBD While transcripts credentials are not required for the interview they are mandatory prior to any offer of employment.Closing Date July 12 2013 at 4.30pmCover Letters and Resumes must quote File number 1N-13-136.
