TERMOGRAPH -- Nautical - Antique - Windup -- F. DARTON and CO. -

I am offering a refurbished (not a reproduction) early 1900s English Thermograph Based on the design materials used and quality it was likely built by the prestigious F. DARTON & CO. established in London during 1834. This mechanical device is designed to record temperature in a confined area over a seven day period. It consists of a wind-up mechanical rotating wind-up drum holding a temperature chart plus a bimetal mechanism sensitive to temperature changes. A stainless steel arm holding an ink nib (pen) scribes the temperature changes on the chart. The copper and brass hinged case measures 10 wide x 5 deep x 6 tall and is attached to a cast iron base which has all the components attached. The eight day clock mechanism was built by GLUCK BAROGRAPHS AND RECORDERS CO. LTD. and is signed 7D R8D MADE IN ENGLAND . Also included are the original clock key a small bottle of black ink and a French paper chart which has some ink stains and scribbling. There is a metal tag attached to the base which reads ON (with an arrow through the middle) and SERIAL 7243 . This is a very rare and unique artifact and appears to be functional but there is no assurance will work after shipping.
