Babcock Hills Veterinary Hospital is seeking a kennel technician to join our team. We are a full service AAHA accredited hospital located on Prue Road (at) Babcock. Experience preferred but we are willing to train the right person. Please apply in person only absolutely NO phone calls faxes or emails General Job Duties Veterinary kennel technicians (also called animal caretakers) are responsible for the day-to-day care of patients and boarders. This includes but is not limited to feeding watering cleaning walking bathing and monitoring the wellbeing of dogs cats and occasionally other companion animals. Kennel technicians must have sufficient physical strength mobility and stamina to lift and or move heavy pets and objects (up to 50lbs) the dexterity and confidence to administer medications and the ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease. Excellent communication skills are a must to effectively communicate with doctors staff and clients. High attention to detail and following protocol is essential. It is vital that they have the ability and willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle compassionate care for boarded and hospitalized pets.
