Meet sweet silly Sugar Plum a one-year-old pup who loves affection and attention toys and cuddling for petting You can see me enjoying playing with my stuffed lion here - -XX -XX.XX FV3ZtEZgSt0. Sugar was rescued from an overcrowded local shelter and is so excited to be in the safe and loving environment of Providence Animal Center She has some hearing loss so a big overcrowded shelter was a particularly scary place for her. As she decompresses here she is showing all of us what a sweet dog she can be and we are figuring out how best to communicate with her (it turns out low pitches high pitches and hand signals work best). We believe that Sugar Plum is house trained and she knows some obedience commands too. She is sometimes a little bit high energy and we think she would do really well with people who could either give her a fenced yard to run in or regular exercise. And Sugar so far seems not to be interested in living with other furry creatures though some of her responses to them may be due to a strange environment and the disorientation involved in not being able to hear them fully. The staff here has learned a lot about those things that are likely to help Sugar Plum thrive (like the noises that she can hear best) and she in turn has been learning about checking in with her human when she s out on a walk and how to walk nicely on a leash. It is time though for Sugar Plum to find her own forever home for her to learn new things with a person or family that can be devoted to her and to building her confidence and trust and for her to be able to bestow some of that love that and affection that she so clearly has on a person who will love her back to the great extent she deserves. She s ready to be the dog of your dreams so come on down to the Center and ask to see Sugar Plum - and get ready to fall madly in love
