Smart-Fill Employer Resources a new formed Professional Employer Organization (PEO) is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to process multi-state payroll and payroll taxes. Principal Responsibilities Include Prepare and process payroll multi-state payrolls for assigned clients Payroll tax payments preparation payroll tax return preparation and compliance utilizing MasterTax System Provide exceptional client service Process garnishments and levies Issue W-2s and conduct W-2 audits Assist client with General Ledger downloads Complete subpoena and wage verification requests Stay current on legislative and tax changes Workers Compensation and Unemployment laws for multiple states Manage Time and Attendance system Track vacation and sick leave balances Prepare daily summaries of Funds Held for Others Prepare monthly Workers Compensation reporting for carriers. Assist with monthly benefit billing and reconciliations. Create custom reports for clients using available report tools. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Strong multi state payroll experience required FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) and CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred Minimum of 5 years payroll experience PEO experience a plus Strong written and verbal communications Experience with Darwin or comparable PEO payroll system Bachelor s Degree preferred Experience and ability to work in a fast paced environment Ability to meet required deadlines Willingness to work overtime when necessary Payroll Service Bureau experience a plus
