Hi my name is Sadie. I am a 7 yr old yorkshire terrier who is in need of a loving patient home - the first real home I will have ever had. When I was little more than a pup my owners sold me to a puppy mill where I spent the next 6 years living in a crate and having litter after litter. I was bred so much that my little body just couldn t do it anymore. Thankfully I was rescued from the breeder and ended up in the care of Home At Last.When I first arrived at my foster home it was clear I was traumatized by my years spent confined to a filthy crate. I was very frightened and would hide from my foster mom. But being in a loving and safe environment has helped me recover. I am still shy with strangers but once I get to know someone and trust they won t hurt me I become a cuddle monster. I love getting affection and giving gentle kisses.Toys are new to me and I am enjoying playing with them for the first time. I also enjoy playing with other dogs once I get to know them and I am good with cats. Even though I don t like going for long walks I do enjoy getting out for a stroll and am great on and off leash. When I am nervous or excited or even if I am just waiting for my dinner I often run around in circles. I am not a picky eater and will even eat fruit and vegetables.I have come a long way but I am still not house trained. I can spend hours outside with my foster mom and then walk the house and have an accident. I just don t really understand the idea of going outside because I have always been in a cage and was never let out before A very patient and understanding home is essential for me to feel safe and secure.My favorite thing is a warm soft bed which I am never in a hurry to leave. I am a very smart girl and anxious to please. I hope someone comes for me soon - it will be wonderful knowing I have a home - at long last. I am spayed am up to date on my vaccinations and have had my teeth recently cleaned. My adoption fee is 300. It is essential that Sadie not be treated unkindly for her accidents. She will eventually learn to be housetrained but would not tolerate harsh corrections. She cannot tolerate any loud or harsh words or gestures.... More Info
