Our client is well established bank seeking a Sr. AS400 RPG Developer Support- Insurance Industry Location Montreal QC. Duration 6 months contract with strong possibility of extension Job Description - Support the technical problems of production environment business applications (auto residential Claim Centre etc..) - Responsible for supporting IT operations claims management suites production problems and data for applications built on different platforms Must have Programming AS400 - RPG ILE - NO COBOL Good knowledge of structured programming (RPG IV) on the System i Good knowledge of programming language concepts and the RPG THE ISLAND (modules service program procedure) Able to support (Port pager) - Support batch treatment outside working hours (pager) to one week per month. A minimum of 3 year s experience in production (programming). Must have experience of projects involving multidisciplinary teams (architects analysts IT developer QA etc.). Knowledge of object modeling notation Unified (UML) Controlling at least one specialty and be familiar with another client-server system or i have a good knowledge of an application or software (ie Guidewire Claim Center). Experience in object oriented programming Knowledge of the operating system System i Experience in development of distributed applications Knowledge of at least one management system database (RDBMS) such as Oracle Microsoft SQL DB2) and the structured query language (SQL) Experience with development tools and collaboration (such as WDSC IDE or SEU manager MKS Implementer source as Manager of anomalies or change requests such as HP Quality Center Version One or ... etc.). Responsibilities Responsible for troubleshooting treatments at the end of days AS 400 and client-server. Responsible for handling errors (Splunk) System Center Claim (GuideWire). Evaluate the urgency of error messages (Splunk) and make appropriate communications system analysts to ensure that measures are taken to solve the problem Working with the team of analysts system support team production. Responsible for the resolution of problems relating to different environments At the request of systems analysts make investigations in programs ( debug programs) Make the necessary corrections to address the problem Observe the level of urgency and priorities assigned Be sure to follow the process of developing appropriate depending on the urgency of the problem Provide and deliver solutions that meet the needs of users and that to correct the code Validate the necessary changes to the code from organic analysts and architects. Responsable de la r solution des probl mes relatifs aux diff rents environnements A la demande des analystes de syst me faire les investigations dans les programmes ( d bugger les programmes) Apporter les corrections n cessaires pour r gler le probl me Respecter le niveau d urgence et les priorit s assign s S assurer de suivre le processus de d veloppement appropri selon l urgence du probl me Fournir et proposer des solutions qui correspondent aux besoins des utilisateurs et cela afin de corriger le code Valider au besoin les changements au code aupr s des analystes organiques et des architectes.
