Introducing Cupcake a Pomeranian mix or Miniature American Eskimo mix weighing 11 pounds and covered in a gorgeous coat of fur that is white with some tan spots. Cupcake is a sweet little one who is generally well behaved the house. She enjoys her daily walks and bathroom breaks soaking up the sunshine and taking in the smells sights and sounds. Cupcake is initially wary of new people (sometimes barks at strangers) and dogs (fearful meeting them). She would do best with an adopter who will help her manage her insecurity and work on her socialization effectively.Cupcake adjusted quickly in her foster home taking on the new routine and new caregiver. This beautiful little dog is crated while her foster mom is away from home sometimes between 5 to 8 hours which she handles - but she never happily walks into the crate. Cupcake is fully housebroken and is allowed free roam of the house when her foster mom is home she prefers to sleep with her foster mom in bed at night.Cupcake enjoys undivided attention receiving cuddling and belly rubs. Cupcake takes treats nicely and knows the word sit. She will seek out attention too poking her foster mom with her nose or giving her a paw Cupcake will sometimes climb into her lap for some one-on-one time. But Cupcake also prefers some solitary time under the desk or bed to rest. Because of this behavior and what appears to be some fear of children we are seeking adult only household for her.A Caring Place rescued Cupcake from Chicago Animal Care and Control when she was out of time. This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian and treated for kennel cough. She will be inoculated against diseases dewormed tested for Heartworm Disease spayed and microchipped prior to adoption.
