Kanga - Female Carolina Dog Mix

Look at those ears Ms. Kanga is a young addition to the ACR family weighing in at about 20lbs. This Carolina dog mix was probably born at the beginning of this year so she still has some room to grow but will likely top out at around 35lbs. Despite her adolescence she keeps her kennel clean for a full night s sleep This precious pup is still very much so a puppy. When she meets new people she gets so excited and shows her love and affection. Sometimes that means jumping up and licking your face so she is working on her manners. She rarely gets nervous around new faces but it doesn t last long if she does. She s still exploring this strange new world and loud noises or sharp movements make her cringe. She doesn t bolt or anything she just needs to some more time to adjust to the walls outside of the shelter. She is a little adventurer and enjoys exploring and playing but settles down to nap after a little while. She is good to go with a couple of walks some potty breaks and a little light play time. Foster Mom has found out that Kanga is a little hoarder she doesn t chew destructively but she created a mound of socks under Foster Mom s bed Too funny too cute too adorable Following her people is something Kanga is quite fond of. She isn t an in-your-face dog but more of a shadow. She will whine a little when put in her crate if Foster Mom is still home moving about the house but she settles down after a couple of minutes. If she s playing and gets really excited she has a silly habit of chasing her tail she gets super animated then super confused and it s absolutely adorable She is great with kids and just loves the attention they give her.Kanga is housebroken She signals with her paw when she needs to go outside or if she s in her kennel she ll paw at the door and whine. She is also fully crate trained This lovely lady has been somewhat isolated recently because of her kennel cough but it s almost cured and she will soon explore more with other doggies. She used to live with another foster puppy and the two of them loved playing together she tends to be a softer player than her previous foster sister. She hasn t been around cats yet but based on her initial shyness we think she would be fine in a feline-friendly home. There have been no signs of food or toy aggression either so if she had a 4 legged canine friend we re confident there wouldn t be any issues there All in all Kanga is a sharp dog who is catching on quickly. She pays attention to her surroundings and responds quickly to correction. She would make a great first dog or a fabulous addition for another furry friend since she is so loving and affectionate.
