Dante - Male Australian KelpieCattle Dog Mix

Dante turned up at an apartment complex and when no one claimed him a HOPE volunteer stepped in to foster him. Dante is a Cattle Dog Kelpie cross and has the traits of both breeds. He is a dog that is very loyal and protective of his family but can be somewhat standoffish to those he does not know. Dante would do the best with someone who has experience with the cattle dog breed and would not be the right dog for a first time dog owner or someone who did not enjoy outdoor activities. He is highly intelligent and learns very quickly. While at the vet getting his checkup Dante rumaged through his foster moms purse pulled out the car keys and went to the front door and set them down. He loves riding in a truck and looking out the window. Dante is a dog that will need a job and daily exercise. Dante will excel at agility would make a great running partner and loves to herd if given the chance. Approx. DOB Jan. 2012. Approx. Weight 40 lbs.
