Qila gave birth to her own calf Tiqa in 2008 making Tiqa the first calf born to anaquarium born beluga. Three year old Tiqa died of phnemoia Sept 16 2011.Aurora the Vancouver Aquarium beluga whale that had been battling a serious illness passed away Nov.26 2016. Aurora had been monitored by aquarium staff after herdaughter 21 year old Qila passed away on Nov.16.
