Last December St John The Baptist Church in Royston Hertfordshire UK went on fire. An investigation was carried but arson was eventualy ruled out as a possible cause. Worshippers are now meeting in a local school on Sundays the town hall on Saturdays and the Methodist church on Wednesdays for services and activities. Although some of the repair work will be covered by insurance the local community has also responded to a fundraising drive which has brought in close to 20 000. Months on & the Church is still surrounded in scaffolding with hopes that it will be reopened in time for December 2020 which will be 2 years after the fire first happened. Although local fundraising & insurance will pay for a portion of the rebuilding it is still not enough which is why we are reaching out and spreading the situation as far wide as we can and as much as we can to secure the extra funds and also speed up the process. We have set up a GoFundMe account for worldwide donations and would be greatful for any donation however big or small. If everyone from a congregation or church gave 3 3 the goal could be reached pretty quickly. Please take the time to donate and invite others to donate.
