With over 30 years combined experience in the transportation industry we are truly the Ideal partner for all of your domestic and cross border transportation requirements.Ideal is an asset-based operation with facilities in Milton Ontario (adjacent to Toronto) Manteca California as well as Chicago Illinois. Our operations and customer service team coordinate all transportation cross docking and warehousing functions throughout our network.Our Truckload activity integrates our fleet with partner carrier resources to offer LTL Expedited Dedicated Temperature Controlled and Flat Deck service. For our customers further convenience we complement our over-the-road services with Custom-tailored Warehousing and Distribution requirements Domestic Air Freight Intrastate trucking (LTL and Truckload) Intermodal and Contract Drayage We are looking for a Logistics Supervisor to act as a supervisor to our fleet and join our organisation. Successful applicants having the skills and experience for this job will be selected for an interview. Job main duties Lead and oversee all aspects of development implementation standardization (where appropriate) and management of the Company s DOT MTO Compliance Programs including CMV Files DOT MTO Driver Qualification Files DOT Drug Alcohol Programs Vehicle Inspections Hours of Service etc. Develop and implement standardized processes for Driver Background Checks Pre-Employment Medical Screening & DOT Physicals Previous Employer Release of Information etc. in coordination & conjunction with Operations Personnel Prepare and submit required Federal and State DOT MTO Registrations Licensing Compliance Reports etc. Conduct incident investigations root-cause analysis follow-up and closure of action items and leverage learning across organization for all vehicle accidents involving Company personnel and or equipment. Work with Operations Personnel to implement and manage detailed proactive systems to ensure compliance with Federal and State DOT MTO regulations and Company requirements with a strong emphasis on a Management Systems approach to compliance. Conduct Trucking & Transportation applicability determinations compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure effective and sustainable implementation of Regulatory and Company requirements at each of the truck shops yards. Review pending and upcoming changes to Federal & State DOT MTO regulations to ensure the Company is prepared for future compliance requirements. Seek out industry best practices and more effective and efficient methods to achieve Operational Excellence in Incident Prevention and DOT MTO Compliance. Lead and oversee all aspects of development implementation standardization (where appropriate) and management of the Company s Health & Safety Compliance and Risk Management Programs for Area of Responsibility (AOR). Work with Operations Personnel to implement and manage a proactive behavior-based approach to Health & Safety with a strong emphasis on Personal Responsibility Incident Prevention & a Management Systems approach to compliance. Perform Health & Safety applicability determinations compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure effective and sustainable implementation of Regulatory and Company requirements. Conduct incident investigations root-cause analysis follow-up and closure of action items and leverage learning across organization for all injuries and incidents involving Company personnel and or equipment in AOR. Review pending changes to Federal State and Local Health & Safety regulations to ensure the Company is prepared for future compliance requirements. Develop and communicate impact summaries of future regulatory changes to Operations Management. Seek out industry best practices and more effective and efficient methods to achieve Operational Excellence in Incident Prevention Health & Safety Compliance and Risk Management. Development of fleet administration standards and vehicle operating policies Interview and select drivers and recommend transfers reassignment termination and disciplinary actions. Direct fleet-related risk management training such as safety and accident prevention programs and negotiate insurance matters. Monitor evaluate and determine priority of vehicle maintenance servicing and repair projects. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements for third party suppliers and or service providers. Review the work of mechanics and other maintenance personnel to assure compliance with established standards guidelines and procedures. Job requirements Minimum high school education is required. Applicants with higher post-secondary education in business administration or related field with sales experience may be eligible for consideration. Minimum (5) years of experience in sales management is required or retail sales experience at a supervising position is required.
