We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician III to support a local manufacturing customer in Menahga MN. This position reports to the Production Manager. This position works alongside Production and Engineering to ensure that machines and facility are in good working order to improve safety and minimize downtime. Machines are largely custom or customized (main processes relate to rubber molding and steel forming and heat treatment) and vary in complexity and technology (mechanical to PLC controlled). Responsibilities With minimal supervision and technical guidance keeps plant machinery and equipment in good repair. Performs leads and coordinates preventive maintenance on machinery. With minimal assistance examines machines to diagnose root cause of trouble dismantles machines and replaces defective parts. Tests repaired machinery to ensure efficient operation. Addresses leads and coordinates facility maintenance issues including electrical plumbing welding etc. Works to improve safety by performing scheduled safety inspections on equipment and completing safety-related projects. Contribute recommendations for the improvement of work methods and safety. May provide training to less experienced maintenance staff. Works closely with the Production Manager to assist prioritizing breakdowns and scheduling maintenance of machinery facility. Qualifications Deep knowledge of hand power tools and general shop equipment including drill press band saws grinders welders etc. Advanced knowledge of mechanics pneumatics hydraulics manual machining electrical. Ability to weld and fabricate relatively complex parts and safety guards. Strong diagnostics and maintenance skills dealing with PLC-controlled equipment. An excellent problem solver. Strong relationship development and communication skills works well with others. Must have a good driving record and a current driver s license. Contributes to production as needed (e.g. configure rubber molds etc.) Exposure to lean manufacturing principles a plus (e.g. 5S Kaizen and TPM).
