The PeopleReady 31935 South Fraser Way Abbotsford BC is currently hiring a Sanitation WorkerTo ensure that the production facility is cleaned and sanitized in a timely fashion in accordance with HACCP & CFIA regulations. Pay Rate for this Job is 16.06 HourDuties & Responsibilities Responsible for performing daily weekly & monthly projects as outlined on the sanitation reports. Cleans areas according to assigned schedules using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods and procedures as outlined in the company s SSOP s Pre-staging of the machines for cleanup and production schedule. Report any mechanical defects that cause downtime for the Sanitation Department which will cause the failure to complete the sanitation process on time for the startup of production in the mornings to the Sanitation Manager or Supervisor. Safe use of cleaning chemicals as trained by sanitation manager and according to Safety data sheets. Adheres to established facility policies and procedures including safety rules and safe working practices. Other duties as required such as wiping the condensation disposal of garbage and inedible waste oil and organization of empty chemical containers and clean and organize the outside perimeter of the premises etc. Knowledge & Background Requirements Entry level position Extensive in-house training will be provided Must pass WHMIS and sanitation training Qualifications Skills Required Basic reading writing and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift to 10-15 kilograms required. Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and high-pressure water hoses Previous knowledge of WHMIS is an asset Abilities Ability to read write and comprehend English Manual Dexterity Highly flexible to perform multiple tasks Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Working Conditions Exposure to wet cold humid conditions Exposure to excessive noise Work involves hot water which creates slippery foggy working conditions.
