They are at building highway and heavy construction sites residential and commercial sites tunnel and shaft excavations and demolition sites. Many of the jobs they perform are physically strenuous and may require special training or experience. Other jobs require little skill and can be learned quickly. The job duties of aGeneral Labour vary sometimes even day-to-day at the same site. They may include cleaning and preparing a jobsite loading and delivering materials using different tools and machines such as blowtorches driving forklifts reading levels operating lifts and manning power drills grinders saws pressure washers and water spraying equipment. Labourers set up and take down ladders scaffolding and other temporary structures. They help carpenters masons and other specialized contractors. Note - Pay Rate for this Job is 16.86 Hour Responsibilities Include Cut Cores Cylinder cardboard cores Help machine operators Make Stack Pallets Housekeeping Make sure Machine operators have enough supplies Help with product blending loading hoppers Continental Shifts 730-730 Comply with all Safety AIB and housekeeping rules for self and others. Assist with production lines in plant. Clean production areas Sweep mop and remove debris from production floor as instructed Load and unload items from machines carts and dollies. Feed or place items onto equipment for processing. Pull damaged or ineffective equipment off the line. Retrieve packaging material for production. Assembles product boxes for production lines as required Lift and weigh finished product before packaging Operate overwrap machine for further processing. Remove product from machine Clean equipment when required Record data. Take instructions from supervisors lead hands for further duties as required and directed. Qualifications Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively Forklift experience and Ticket an asset Warehouse experience Mandatory There is no minimal educational requirement but specialized training can help Labourers advance Verifiable work history that shows professional skills and experience Strong work ethic Some assignment have additional screening requirements such as background checks.
