Responsibilities include As a member of the Americas Finance team the Director of Finance Finance Training provides functional training expertise and consultative support to regional and property teams for Managed Full Service properties in the Eastern and Western regions of the Americas. This leader will contribute a high level of specialized knowledge to support finance objectives. This resource will lead the execution for programs and initiatives related to the overall strategy for finance training delivery with a primary focus on Full Service. The Director will be responsible for the development deployment maintenance measurement and compliance of the training curriculum processes and tools for key property finance associates (Assistant Director of Finance Senior Assistant Director of Finance & Director of Finance). This includes the development and deployment of FIT & STAR training programs the sustainment and tracking of the onboarding training program in the Digital Learning Zone as well as conducting or facilitating one-on-one or group training for finance associates either in-person or virtually. The Director will oversee the execution of learning deliverables to ensure program alignment with the business priorities and define the overarching finance training delivery strategy for all brands across the East and West regions. This position will partner with the regional Americas Finance Leaders Learning & Development and other key business partners stakeholders to define the overall short and long term learning strategies and develop a governance process for identifying and prioritizing training needs across the Americas. This position will develop and or contribute technical expertise to existing training content and will lead the development of new content where appropriate. She he must be adept at tapping diverse sources of information identifying appropriate solutions anticipating challenges and devising and executing approaches to deliver against current and future priorities. In addition to this training role this Director may also perform Bench DFA duties across the East and West regions as appropriate. This Bench role will assist in providing leadership and financial support to properties which may include interim DFA roles conducting audits leading projects training staff etc. EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONSProvides finance training expertise and consultative support to regional teams and property teams for full-service properties across the East and West regions. Oversees all training delivery projects programs and ensure resources are appropriately allocated to meet project deadlines budget goals and changing business and or market needs. Develops Finance Training governance processes in partnership with regional finance leaders to develop tools to monitor and execute prioritization of training needs and partners with finance leadership across the East and West regions to gain consensus on prioritization. Leads the forecasting monitoring and measuring of the funding model for Finance Training and develops actionable recommendations to address identified business challenges and opportunities. Partners with other regional finance leaders as appropriate to develop and operationalize the appropriate financial control cost monitoring and reporting systems. Leads facilitates the annual finance training programs STAR (Asst DFAs) and FIT (DFAs). Oversees the strategic planning and delivery of STAR FIT programs. Manages programs from end-end including logistics communications attendee list presenters training content and budget. Partners with Learning & Development to ensure training certifications are current and utilize best practices for the learning discipline. Establishes measures of success and holds the training team and program SMEs (FIT STAR) accountable for meeting high standards of training delivery. Maintains content integrity accuracy and consistency of training programs. Delivers training to ensure transfer of knowledge according to program learning objectives. Delivers a variety of learning programs to small and large audiences classroom and or virtual. Performs as a Bench DFA across the East and West regions as assigned. This role may be project based or backfilling for a property finance leader on an interim basis. CANDIDATE PROFILEBS BA in accounting finance or related field. Marriott experience as a hotel Director of Finance strongly preferred. 8 years of relevant accounting finance experience. Global mindset able to work with diverse stakeholders enterprise-wide with focus on developing and integrating best practices across all brands & businesses. Thorough knowledge of the principles procedures and techniques of accounting and of financial records and transactions including but not limited to generally accepted accounting principles. Strong communications (verbal and written) organization and presentation skills. Ability to communicate important finance information effectively with non-finance managers. Knowledge of operating procedures controls and governances. Ability to leverage resources in the accomplishment of objectives. Exceptional organizational skills. Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments. Project management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all levels of management. Effective decision-making skills i.e. can choose a prompt course of action amongst options involving uncertainty or risk. Strong problem-solving skills encourages innovative solutions when appropriate. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external customers. LOCATIONThis position is based in any location within the Americas. Minimum of 50% travel expected with the training role may be increased travel in Bench role.
