Job Summary Responsible for placing safety as 1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Performs a variety of technical duties in the area of Cathodic Protection (CP) and if applicable offer support to staff engineers supervisors. Performs CP testing design and Pipeline Integrity related assessments. Performs field operations and maintenance of cathodic protection and corrosion control systems.Minimum Qualifications Corrosion Technician I High school diploma GED and one year of CP experience or two-year technical degree or two years of post-high school training from an approved math or science technical trade school. Corrosion Technician II NACE CP level 1 or NACE Corrosion Technician certification and two years corrosion mitigation experience.Additional Requirements Requires extensive travel (90% ). Required to maintain a valid driver s license. Key Skills & Competencies Corrosion Technician I Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Proficient in operation and use of personal computers and commercially available software. Strong organization skills with demonstrated proficiency in documentation. Must have the ability to effectively interact with others and work in a team environment. Ability to understand shunts and their use in rectifiers bonds and anodes reference cells their maintenance use and precautions and polarity related to current flow and metal corrosion.
