This position ensures that all products are produced to the designated specifications and those targets and deadlines are met to achieve the orders. The Production Supervisor will ensure that all direct staff complies with the company s Health and Safety procedures. Work Relationships Internal This position requires communication throughout all levels of the organization. External This position may require communication with vendors as well as internal and external customers. Reports to Production Manager Supervises Production Workers Pay Range 60 000 to 70 000 Per Year DOE Employee Benefits include Medical Dental Vision and 401k Shift Timing - All Shifts Responsibilities Follow and enforce all applicable plant rules safety rules housekeeping rules maintenance rules and security rules Supervise shift employees train employees and work hand in hand with the employees Manages all other production teammates. Check time and attendance for payroll accuracy and attendance point system. Responsible for the overall direction coordination and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training planning assigning and directing work leading or participating in peer performance reviews rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems. Coordinate activities between other shifts quality control shipping and receiving and maintenance. Perform daily inspections of major operating equipment and work areas. Correct any problems. Maximize plant productivity and quality. Minimize plant downtime. Document production results including downtime input pounds output pounds waste etc. Develop and implement ways to improve safety increase productivity improve product quality reduce operating costs and minimize waste. Responsible for reporting and documenting all necessary maintenance repair items required process improvements quality control concerns and production supply levels i.e. boxes skids liners chemicals etc. to the production manager. Other duties as required by management. Qualifications Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills in English. Must be a good problem solver a good listener analytical and hands on EXPERIENCE. Must be experienced in safety procedures quality procedures good manufacturing procedures and good maintenance procedures. 3 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Should have some extrusion process experience. Having mechanical and some electronic background is a plus. Understanding basic characteristic of different types of plastics. Should have some basic knowledge and concept of Product Life Cycles. Should have some basic knowledge of material handling processes. Working Conditions Work requires normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination Corrected hearing and vision to normal acceptable range A significant amount of time will be spent in a production environment Production area is not climate controlled and may experience extreme temperatures This position requires approximately 4-6 hours per day standing and or walking.
