Original 1956 Porsche 356A Super Coupe with Matching Numbers According to a copy of the Porsche factory Kardex this 356 A Super Coupe was completed in July 1956 and was supplied new with the optional 75hp Super engine no. 80345 and was finished in the attractive color scheme of Aquamarine Metallic over gray leather. Delivered New to Gl ckler Porsche in Frankfurt the 356 remained in Germany through 1958 and was subsequently exported to the US eventually settling in the Mid-Atlantic region. As presented today this Porsche is clearly a well-traveled machine that has developed a fantastic distressed patina over the past 65 years. Despite its time-weathered appearance and the presence of significant corrosion in lower sections of the body this 356 was mechanically recommissioned by its previous Virginia-based owner and has since been used as an occasional weekend driver. Significantly it retains many desirable features including much of its original leather upholstery a period Telefunken radio properly date-coded fuel tank and numbered body panels as well as its matching-numbers 1600 Super engine.
