There are 3 regions (Northwest Western and Eastern) this position is in Eastern Region. The Regions provide the following services compliance inspection of regulated entities enforcement of permit requirements and administrative rules issuance of air water and solid waste permits investigation of complaints issuance of subsurface permits in counties response to spills or other incidents with environmental impacts direct contact and liaison with other governmental entities industries and the public and technical assistance to regulated entities and the public. What you will do You will provide clerical administrative and reception support for the Eastern Region Pendleton Office including but not limited to operating the agency multi-line telephone console at Reception answering telephone and in-person inquiries on general agency operations programs and functions managing the checkout log of fleet vehicles for DEQ staff providing clerical and administrative support to managers and section staff including copying mailing scanning faxing data entry and composition of correspondence scheduling meetings and training reserving conference rooms purchasing office supplies preparing meeting agendas and taking meeting minutes and coordinating the mail room operations. You will be a part of an Eastern Region administrative team that provides region-wide support for daily work as well as special projects. What are we looking for Minimum Qualifications 2 years of general clerical experience 1 year of which included typing word processing or other experience generating documents. Candidates who are most competitive will also reflect the following Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word Excel and Outlook) experience entering data and maintaining databases. Experience with using software for records management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills interpersonal skills customer service skills and time management skills. High aptitude for learning new things and an ability to pay attention to detail. Ability to work on tight deadlines in environments with shifting priorities and demands. Ability to act professionally and courteously with internal and external individuals including coworkers managers other staff and members of the public. Experience with multi-line phones. Experience with records management experience maintaining electronic and hard-copy files. Excellent teamwork skills. Working Conditions Work is primarily in an office setting. This position requires occasional travel on State business for meetings and conferences and to support other offices some of which may include irregular work hours or overnight stays.
