This is a KJV Bible study guide on the ten virgins and their oil lamps Matthew 25 1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins which took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom. (Ten virgins represent ten Christians that would be attending the wedding. Remember that we are to remain spiritual virgins until Christ returns as our bridegroom).Matthew 25 2 And five of them were wise and five were foolish. (Let s see what the wise ones did compared to what the foolish ones did. Remember that the first step to wisdom is to revere and obey the Lord not some man).Matthew 25 3 They that were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them (A Christian is to reflect the light [truth] of God s word. The oil used here is Olive oil in English or Elahyon in the Greek language anointing oil. The oil represents God s anointing or the Word of God (Truth John 17 17). Since they had no oil in their lamps the lamps could not be lit to give off light. Light equals truth from God s word. See below Light represents truths from God s word Matthew 25 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. (The wise ones took the oil Gods anointing or the Word of God that they knew very well through actual study of God s word).Matthew 25 5 While the bridegroom tarried they all slumbered and slept. (They slept and got a little sidetracked from what was going on. Just like can happen to us with false teaching and traditions of men stay focused on the truth from God s word only).Matthew 25 6 And at midnight there was a cry made Behold the bridegroom cometh go ye out to meet him. (This would be at the seventh trump the return of the true Christ. This would be the second advent. (Revelation 16 15).Matthew 25 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. (The wise ones knew who true Christ was and were prepared at His return. They knew the truth in the word and were not deceived. See Luke 12 35).Matthew 25 8 And the foolish said unto the wise Give us of your oil for our lamps are gone out. (The foolish ones had no light in them because they were biblically illiterate no truth just traditions of men and false teachings. They did not know the real Christ from the false Christ who comes first at the sixth trump. The true Christ comes at the seventh trump).Matthew 25 9 But the wise answered saying Not so lest there be not enough for us and you but go ye rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves. (Now remember from verse six that we are talking about 12 00 midnight. It is hard to buy lamp oil at this time in those days. They blew it and were too late just as you can t buy Gods blessings either. You either learn the truth or you don t. The truth is given to you by God through study of His word not by some man or woman. We are commanded to study His word see 2 Timothy 2 15 (KJV).Matthew 25 10 And while they went to buy the bridegroom came and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage and the door was shut. (At midnight the door was shut you were either in [ready] or out [not ready]. There was no changing of mind for at that moment those that had the oil knew the truth and absolutely could not be fooled. All others that had not the truth could not get in. Friend if you are banking on waiting to the end to make things right you are in trouble. When the Antichrist comes to earth with his locust army of fallen angels God is going to turn those that have not the truth over to Satan the Antichrist and only those sealed with the oil of truth in their minds are to be protected. Revelation 9 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth neither any green thing neither any tree but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. The seal is the truth of God and the the lamps are where the oil is kept and that is in your mind which is in your forehead. The foolish virgins are lacking the knowledge of the truth of God to know the difference between the two Christs Jesus Christ and the Antichrist and before they have the time to obtain the truth it will be too late. The door is shut by the Almighty God Himself and it is He that will cause you to go whoring after the wrong husband . What side of the door will you be on) Matthew 25 11 Afterward came also the other virgins saying Lord Lord open to us. (They begged to get in but it was too late).Matthew 25 12 But he answered and said Verily I say unto you I know you not. (It is too late I don t even know you These are the ones who were deceived by the Antichrist the AntiChrist comes first at the sixth trump. Now they want to be part of the true Christ. Too late foolish one) Light represents truths from God s word Psalm 43 3 O send out thy light and thy truth let them lead me let them bring me unto thy holy hill and to thy tabernacles.Psalm 119 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.John 17 17 Sanctify them through thy truth thy word is truth. (This is Jesus speaking here. His word is what) We know billions live in daily rebellion against their Creator and may be doomed for eternity unless they learn the truth and accept Jesus Christ (see the light). Thus by sharing His truths and not being selfish with those truths millions perhaps billions can hear those truths of God s word in this spiritually-dark world and see the light. This doesn t mean we have to get out on a street corner and preach loudly ramming it down peoples throats. A lot of times we can drive people away from God by being too forceful preaching hellfire and damnation (false doctrines) etc. We can accomplish truth sharing in most cases just by being a good example to others. They may see what we have (good fruits of the spirit Galatians 5 22-23) and become interested in acquiring some for themselves (help bring them closer to God not drive them away).John 3 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light neither cometh to the light lest his deeds should be reproved. [Light symbolizes God and His truth darkness equals the opposite everything that is anti-God the wicked evil liars and lying deceit etc. All who do evil hate the truth they fear their sins will be exposed they fear accountability they are ashamed. See Ephesians 5 12-13.
