Responsibilities include strong> The Server is responsible for ensuring that each and every guest enjoys their visit and leaves with a memorable and lasting impression. They embrace the Sheraton brand vision and bring it to life within our food and beverages outlets. The associates in this role take pride in being of service to others takes time to recognize our most loyal Marriott Bonvoy Members and are always available at a moment s notice to offer food and beverage suggestions respond to inquiries and engage in casual conversation. The Server always puts the guest first by being prepared for service and ensuring that the space is clean organized and inviting. Their attention to detail is meticulous but balanced by a style of service that is engaging while looking for the opportunity to entertain and educate. They will speak informatively about the space history and interior features of the hotel utilizing their strong presentation skills. The associate will require a strong ability to read guest cues to understand the experience the guest desires. Server Key Roles Duties & Responsibilities Welcome guests by being approachable professional and on brand with a hospitable presence provide table service and ongoing maintenance. Deliver food and beverage items to bar seats tables studio suites and guest rooms. Table Bar Service taking orders answering menu and beverage inquiries explaining signature items placing orders table bar maintenance and menu execution Meetings Private Events ensuring event orders are communicated and delivered to meet and exceed guest expectations Correct use of Micros POS system to record transactions adhering to all company standards and policies Processing bills and taking payment while following cash handling procedures as outlined in company policies Find a way to say YES a team player in the lobby venues the server will support baristas and bartenders and any other associates as required for the customer Possess exceptional product knowledge of spirits wine beer and coffee that is demonstrated by one s ability to speak on the subject Respond to guest inquiries regarding food and beverage offerings available throughout the day as well as from other outlets within the hotel - be able to relate all information in an appealing and informative manner to all guests Familiarized with hotel amenities and knowledgeable about historical facts or stories related to the Sheraton and areas of interest in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Drive sales through confident knowledge and provide upsell suggestions that are seen as friendly vs. overbearing and genuine vs. pushy and scripted. Accurately complete and deliver all orders with uncompromising quality and consistency as per specifications Maintain daily inventory of spirits beers wine and coffee to ensure stock maintenance. Reporting any discrepancies or issues with availability of products Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures report work-related accidents or injuries immediately upon occurrence and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of all spaces in 43 Down and Dual Citizen to standard including meeting rooms studio booths lobby seating bar and lounge Use given empowerment to handle guest concerns with minimal supervision Any other duties as assigned by leadership to support the guest experience Competencies Passion for Guest Experience provides exemplary guest service and builds relationships with guests members by showcasing a strong ability to anticipate guests needs through reading verbal or non-verbal cues while also preparing and delivering quality food and beverage products Outgoing & Sociable has a natural ability to spark casual conversations can read the mood of the room and adapt their energy and personality (ex. upbeat vs. contemplative) in order to create an enjoyable welcoming atmosphere where guests feel comfortable Collaborative focused on the success of the team not the individual genuinely willing and able to assist others in any capacity that may be required Organized & Efficient can confidently and quickly respond to guest requests by prioritizing tasks appropriately between execution and operational tasks all while maintaining a clean and organized environment Sales Assured.
