Veteran Liaison Officers on the Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) program administered by Maximus make an impact everyday by addressing all Veteran clients concerns disputes scheduling requests and issues that may arise throughout the course of handling VA-requested Compensation and Pension (C& P) exams. Candidates must possess the desire to assist our wounded veterans with a caring positive and patriotic attitude. To prepare you for this role the VES provides paid comprehensive training which ensures all new employees provide the highest levels of knowledge and professionalism. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive incoming calls directly from upset veterans and transferred from the call center Process exam cancellations Review pending no-show cases and processes them accordingly Coordinate and processes reschedule as necessary Review AMTIS Survey cards and follow up with veteran if necessary Communicate with potentially violent homicidal and or suicidal Veterans Setup transportation to and from VES C& P exams (in accordance with VA contractual guidelines) for severely disabled Veterans Assist other VES departments as necessary Removing editing no- show letters posted in error Knowledge Skills Abilities Advanced verbal and interpersonal skills Strong written communication skills to include excellent grammar Must have reading and comprehension abilities Advanced analytical and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detail Organizational and prioritization skills Ability to meet strict deadlines Proficient typing skills Skillful in Microsoft Word Microsoft Outlook Adobe Acrobat general internet research and beginner knowledge of Microsoft Excel Minimum Qualifications Military Service High School diploma or GED required
