Despite my own struggles I have always been a firm believer in the spirit of giving having contributed to Toys for Tots year after year. Little did I anticipate that this time the request for help would come from me.I take immense pride in my grandchildren aspiring future paleontologists aspiring police officers and two little princesses who adore everything related to royalty. They come from single-parent households and I witness the hard work and dedication my children put into providing for them. They prioritize work over dependency on the system and I support their choice to instill a strong work ethic in my grandchildren.I babysit for my grandchildren allowing my children to avoid the additional expense of a sitter that would strain their already tight budgets. In a world where everything seems to carry a hefty price tag I am finding it challenging to ensure my grandchildren experience the joy of receiving a gift this holiday season. Moreover we don t have a Christmas tree this year and neither do my kids.
