Tasks include lifting positioning and securely clamping metal stock onto the machine bed both manually and with the assistance of overhead or jib cranes. Must be proficient in selecting and installing plasma tips as well as computing gas pressure and mixture and determining the speed of cut based on metal type and thickness using data charts or referencing previous cuts. Should be capable of adjusting machine controls either manually or through command inputs to rectify malfunctions or deviations from tolerance specifications. Collaborates with supervisors or programming personnel to troubleshoot control media errors and resolve issues effectively.
