NEW HIGHER PAY 34 936 - 61 137 The ChallengeWe re looking for an entry-level Engineering Technician to join our Winston-Salem Construction team. In this role you will Assist engineers and senior engineering technicians in the implementation and administration of roadway and structure construction projects awarded to private contractors. Assist on minor to complex projects. Conduct inspections of every phase of a construction project to ensure it is done according to plans and specifications in a timely and cost-effective manner. What You BringAbility to conduct routine inspections for compliance with contract agreements standard codes permit and specifications. Experience planning developing scheduling tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision. Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems. Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments. Customer service experience related to solving problems involving explaining complicated engineering concepts to customer groups. Computer experience including Microsoft Office and drafting software. Ability to establish and maintain positive communication between other technicians engineers contractors and the public. Communication skills to communicate in a clear concise organized and persuasive manner. Ability to work safely in an outside environment with exposure to hazards on construction sites including heights highway traffic and traversing rough terrain in evaluating highway construction. Fitness to perform role with walking climbing balancing kneeling and standing. Strength to lift 50 pounds. Ability to work nights and weekends as required to any assigned project. You apply a safety philosophy and program to all operations. Safety toe shoes. You can safely operate a motor vehicle. Math skills to perform calculations computations and computer iPad data entry. Education & ExperienceAssociate s degree in Civil Engineering Technology Survey Technology or a related curriculum or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
