Mechanical Engineer - Akron OH - JOB 24-00325Salary Range 80k - 85K Permanent Position with Benefits Local well established manufacturer is looking for an Extrusion Process Engineer. Must perform technical responsibilities utilizing optimal cost-effective manufacturing designs and processes in accordance with company specifications and quality standards. Recommend and implement improvements to processes methods and controls.Responsibilities Structure engineering duties and develop existing engineering staff. Promote meticulous attention to detail maintaining drawing control and revision history through SolidWorks vault software. Implement procedures for cross check and redundant review of all drawings. Familiarize and follow established ISO procedures for drawing control. Confer with Operations concerning the machinability of engineered parts. Solicits input for improvement. Ensure engineering is delivered on time to job and project folders. Represent engineering on cross-functional teams for both pre and post design review. Travel as required to provide installation assistance and customer troubleshooting. Attempt to minimize travel by working with engineering and operations to provide superb install technical documentation. Also collaborate with Project Manager Sales to ensure customer is qualified and prepared to operate our equipment. Education Experience Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering Five or more years of manufacturing and extrusion related experience highly preferred. CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred) Excellent computer proficiency Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both with internal and external customers. Understanding of the continuous extrusion process and the importance of temperature pressure shear and mixing on the final product form or shape. Designs to accommodate measurement of temperature and pressure to enhance repeatability of customer process. Maximizes safety factor for components utilized in the extrusion process.
