New Higher Salary 54 197 - 94 844 The ChallengeWe are hiring an entry-level engineer to join our Roadway Design team. In this role you will Serve on our Design Development & Support team developing roadway design plans and construction cost estimates for preliminary rights of way and final construction plans. Prepare roadway design plans and public meeting maps throughout the project delivery process using sound engineering judgement. Coordinate activities with other technical units and staff to incorporate their recommendations into roadway design plans. Prepare and review quantity calculations used to generate cost estimates for the allocation of funds for Transportation Improvement projects. Manage track and report progress of tasks to meet project goals. Assist with training junior engineers including Transportation Engineering Associates and interns. What You BringCivil engineering knowledge especially related to highway design AASHTO guidance the NCDOT Roadway Design Manual Standard Drawings and Specifications. Demonstrated ability to prepare engineered plans and construction estimates for different stages of project plan development. Demonstrated ability to interpret plans provisions and specifications. Design software knowledge such as Bentley s MicroStation GeoPak Corridor Modeling OpenRoads Designer (ORD) Autodesk s Civil 3D and AutoCAD. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information in a clear concise and organized manner. Education & ExperienceBachelors degree in Engineering or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
